Air Drawn Dagger beschreiben sich selbst als elektronisches, punkiges Angst-Pop-Kollektiv. Der Bandname ist dabei eine Referenz an Macbeth der dort für die Charakterisierung eines emotionalen Ausbruchs steht. Sängerin Maisie und Gitarrist Lewis begannen begannen mit dem Schreiben der ersten Songs im Hinterzimmer einer Konditorei in Sheffield, bevor sie sich nach und nach bei diversen Live Auftritten einen Namen machten.
