„My Spooky Forest“ ist die dritte Single aus dem bald erscheinenden Album „Dear Hurricane“ der Alternative Rock-Band Congoroo aus Halle. Die Band war dafür in erstmaliger Zusammenarbeit mit Frieder Does (Blackout Problems, Kid Dad) im Toolhouse Studio in Rotenburg an der Fulda um ihre Songs dort größtenteils live einzuspielen. Nach einiger Zurückhaltung, Naivität und glatter Korrektheit in der Vergangenheit, kommt hier eine Band, die nicht mehr an sich halten kann: Rohe, angestaute Energien formen ihre starken Songs und zeigen ungefilterte Emotionen. Was hier durch das Mischpult fließt, hat viel Melancholie und Wut in sich und ist dennoch überraschend eingängig schön.
Congoroo haben für das Video zu „My Spooky Forest“ mit Peter Leukhardt aus Leipzig zusammen gearbeitet. Gedreht wurde Ende November 21 hinter dem Elternhaus der beiden Brüder Mathias und Stefan an einem Waldrand in Sachsen-Anhalt.
