Die Caskets aus Yorkshire haben ihre neue Single „Make Me A Martyr“ veröffentlicht. Frontmann Matt Flood sagt über die neue Single: „‚Make Me A Martyr‘ ist eine Auseinandersetzung mit Selbstzerstörung und emotionalem Aufruhr. ‚Break me down, I’m nothing, I’m yours‘ beleuchtet die rohe Verletzlichkeit, die entsteht, wenn man sich so sehr in jemand anderem verliert. ‚You make me feel nothing, leave me to rot‘ ist eine Anspielung auf die Taubheit, die entsteht, wenn man so depressiv und tief in einer toxischen Beziehung gefangen ist. Es ist ein Schrei nach echter Verbindung, auch wenn das bedeutet, auf dem Weg dorthin das eigene Selbstwertgefühl komplett zu verlieren.“

Rückblicken ist eine Kunst – und eine noch größere, zu wissen, wie man nach vorne blickt. Für Caskets markiert das Jahr 2025 eine neue Ära, die auf Reflexion, Resilienz und Neuerfindung basiert. Nach dem durchschlagenden Erfolg ihres Debütalbums „Lost Souls“, das sie durch die USA und Europa katapultierte und bei Download und Slam Dunk auftrat, schlug die Band mit ihrem Nachfolger „Reflections“ eine tiefere, introspektivere Richtung ein. Während das erste Album die persönlichen Kämpfe von Frontmann Matt Flood thematisierte, bot „Reflections“ eine breitere Perspektive und verwebte die individuellen Geschichten, Spannungen und Erfolge, die die Band als Einheit prägten. Das oft schwierige zweite Album wurde zu einem entscheidenden Schritt in der Entwicklung von Caskets – nicht nur musikalisch mit seiner Mischung aus mitreißenden Hooks und kraftvollem Ambient, sondern auch zwischenmenschlich, indem es die Art kreativer Zusammenarbeit förderte, die Bands nur durch Ehrlichkeit und hart erarbeitetes Wachstum erreichen.
