Seit dem 09. November steht „Bought to Rot“, das erste gemeinsame Album von Against Me! Sängerin Laura Jane Grace & The Devouring Mothers, in den Läden. Zum US-Tourstart gibt es jetzt ein Video zur ersten Single „Apocalypse Now (& Later)“.
Das Video zum Song erinnert mit seinem grobkörnigen Bild, der VHS-Ästhetik und jede Menge Geknutsche an die 90er, MTV und eine Welt, die irgendwie noch einfacher war. Der Song, der vor einigen Monaten als erster Vorbote für das Album bereits veröffentlicht wurde, steht stellvertretend für „Bought to Rot“: einer der Haupteinflüße für die Songs war „Full Moon Fever“ von Tom Petty, Instrumentierung und Vibe erinnern an das Meisterwerk. Dabei ist die Energie und der Punk stets spürbar.
